Network Spotlight: New York City’s Family Enrichment Centers

What perspective and lessons learned does NYC share with other cities and stakeholders thinking of developing Family Resource Centers? 

This webinar highlights New York City’s Family Enrichment Centers (FECs), initially developed as a pilot by the Administration for Children’s Services with three Centers in 2017, and expanding with an additional nine Centers in 2022. Presenters shared how the FECs impact system inequities, create opportunities for parent leadership, and increase the protective factors of families in their communities.

An Overview of the Standards of Quality for Family Strengthening & Support - with Wisconsin Implementation

How can those working at the systems level leverage the Standards to ensure families are equitably supported across various Programs?

This webinar provided an overview of the Standards and highlighted how they are being utilized as part of a statewide Family Resource Center (FRC) Infrastructure Pilot with 10 FRCs, including urban, rural, newer, and long-standing programs.  The project unifies FRCs' approach to services, while still allowing flexibility of the services to meet local community needs.  The overall goal is to ensure that families throughout the state receive the same quality and approach to family support services wherever they live.

How do Family Resource Centers support the strengthening of Native American communities?

There are numerous Family Resource Centers (FRCs) across the U.S. that have been developed by both urban and rural Native American communities. These FRCs support their communities through culturally-relevant programs, supports, and opportunities that honor and reflect their values and traditions. This webinar features two of them - the Forest County Potawatomi FRC in Wisconsin and the Hupa FRC run by the Hoopa Tribe in California.
