As a mother to six children, Tecoria Jones’ commitment to parents, families, and communities is authentic. “I own my place as a villager in the village that it takes to grow healthy children, families, and communities.”
A native of Columbia, South Carolina, she has been a parent advocate for over ten years. Her work in the Family Support and Strengthening field began as a Parent Peer Support provider for families with children who have mental health concerns. She is now a national consultant on lived experience. She has held numerous citizen leader roles at the local, state, and national levels, and continues to advocate for families.
She served as a parent leader on the committee that revised the Standards of Quality for Family Strengthening and Support in 2020 and chaired the parent leader committee for the 2022 Together for Families Conference.
She has a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of South Carolina - Columbia. She is certified to train in Adverse Childhood Experiences and the Protective Factors Framework. Additionally, she holds certifications in mediation and circle keeping and identifies as a lifelong learner.
