Interim Senior Manager - Standards Training & Implementation

Mayra Carter has over 30 years of experience as a trainer and quality assurance director in both corporate and non-profit organizations. After working for American Airlines, La Quinta Inn, SWBC, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, she ventured into the non-profit field. She then worked with foster families as a training director for the San Antonio Children’s Shelter, and for BCFS Health and Human Services in quality assurance and as a family engagement coordinator for the Family Resource Center.  


Mayra joined the NFSN staff team as the Interim Senior Manager of Standards Training & Implementation in October 2023. She is a Master Trainer on the nationally-adopted Standards of Quality for Family Strengthening & Support. Mayra previously chaired the NFSN Training Committee and served on the NFSN Steering Committee.
 

She holds a bachelor’s degree in Adult Education with a minor in Communication Technologies from Wayland Baptist University as well as several professional certifications in various fields such as training, quality assurance, and leadership. 


She resides in San Antonio, Texas and enjoys spending time with her beloved grandsons in her spare time.
