Julie Matusick serves as Co-Executive Director of the National Family Support Network, where she has been instrumental in driving the organization’s growth and success since joining the team in 2018. Throughout her tenure, Julie has taken on diverse leadership roles, overseeing membership management, developing training programs, coordinating large-scale events, and supporting Members in implementing the Standards of Quality for Family Strengthening & Support. She has also played a key role in organizational operations, program development and delivery, and human resources, including recruitment, onboarding, and staff support. Julie’s leadership in shaping policies, streamlining processes, and fostering strong relationships with Members and stakeholders continues to advance NFSN’s mission of strengthening Family Resource Centers and Networks nationwide.
With over twenty years of experience in the Family Support field, Julie brings expertise in non-profit management, direct service, organizational development, and training. From 2008 to 2018, she served as Manager of the Nonnie Hood Parent & Family Resource Center in Corning, New York. In this role, she successfully oversaw multiple programs, implemented a Parent Advisory Committee, and integrated the Standards of Quality into daily practices after completing her Certification. During her time there, Julie actively connected with broader service provider networks, including the New York State Family Resource Center Network, the Family Enrichment Collaborative, and the New York State Parenting Education Partnership.
Julie’s family support leadership and expertise were first recognized nationally when she presented at the 2017 NFSN National Summit, sharing insights on integrating the Standards at the program and network levels and on developing Family Resource Center Networks. Her combined experience at both the Family Resource Center and Network levels gives her a well-rounded understanding of the challenges and opportunities within the Family Support field.
As a seasoned trainer, Julie currently serves as a Standards of Quality for Family Strengthening & Support Master Trainer, and previously as a New York State Parent Education and Awareness Program Certified Provider, and a Devereux Center for Resilient Children Flip It Trainer.
Julie earned her B.S. in Human Services with a concentration in Management from the State University of New York Empire State College in Saratoga Springs, NY. Committed to continuous growth, she has pursued numerous professional development opportunities, including a Certificate of Leadership (2018), Promise54’s DEI Accelerator Program (2021), and the Google Project Management Certification (2022). She has also completed various human resources and compliance trainings and is currently enrolled in Dartmouth’s Strategic Leadership: Impact, Change, and Decision-Making Specialization Certificate Program to further enhance her leadership expertise.

Julie is deeply engaged in her upstate New York community, serving on the Board of Directors for the Ready, Set, Grow Child Care Center and volunteering with Hope Church. Outside of her professional and community commitments, she enjoys spending quality time with her husband and children, as well as pursuing her passions for reading, running, traveling, photography, and cooking.
