STANDARDS RESOURCE GUIDE
The National Family Support Network’s free Standards Resource Guide is available for going further with each of the five sections of the Standards of Quality for Family Strengthening & Support and for those who have participated in the Standards of Quality for Family Strengthening & Support Certification Training. Navigate between each of the five sections to access books, articles, trainings, online resources, and more that have been sorted by area of practice for any program or individual working with families.
Family Centeredness: Working with a family-centered approach that values families and recognizes them as integral to the Program.
Family Strengthening: Utilizing a family strengthening approach to support families to be strong, healthy, and safe, thereby promoting their success and optimal development.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: Valuing, respecting, and embracing families' diversity, and advancing equity and inclusion.
Community Strengthening: Developing a strong and healthy community by working collaboratively with various stakeholders and supporting families' civic engagement, leadership development, and ability to affect systems change.
Evaluation: Looking at areas of Program strength, as well as areas for further development, in order to guide continuous quality improvement and achieve positive results for families.
GUIDE DEVELOPMENT
Many thanks to the diverse Standards Resource Guide Development Committee, comprised of twenty-five individuals from fifteen states, for the initial development of this tool. This Committee thoroughly reviewed and vetted each resource individually, after they were thoughtfully recommended by one of the NFSN Member Networks.
This guide is reviewed on an ongoing basis to ensure that resources are current and up-to-date.
